Chris Wright: This photo is taken on the Freedom Bridge, near the border of North and South Korea. People put pictures and ribbons up in memory of those who have died as a consequence of conflict between the north and the south, or of family members who are still alive but they are separated from because of the border. It is both a hello – in the hope that in some cases they will be reunited – and a goodbye, remembering people they may never see again. In this case, the picture is of a person who is holding a picture of a person – a goodbye within a goodbye, tacked to the fence with a thousand others.

The more I look, the less sure I am who anybody is. Lost in the crazy coils of sororal punctodelirium.”
